ESN Program Curriculum
Independent Living Skills
Our living skills curriculum is a structured program designed to teach students with disabilities or special learning needs the skills they need to be as independent as possible in their everyday lives, including functional academics, self-care, communication, and social skills.
What are Independent Living Skills?
Our Independent living skills curriculum focuses on helping students with disabilities or special learning needs to develop the skills they need to live as independently as possible.
This includes a wide range of skills, such as:
-
self-care tasks such as dressing, bathing, and grooming;
-
functional academics like reading, writing, and math;
-
money management and budgeting;
-
and communication and social skills.
Our Independent living skills curriculum is tailored to the individual needs and goals of each student and may include a mix of classroom instruction, hands-on learning, and real-life practice. The goal of this type of curriculum is to help students with special needs develop the skills and confidence they need to live as independently as possible and to participate fully in their communities.
